Dr. Burgess graduated from the University of Minnesota OB/GYN Program. She grew up in the foothills of Colorado and attended the University of Colorado-Boulder with a degree in Germanic studies. After CU-Boulder, Dr. Burgess decided upon the field of Women’s Healthcare and has taken an active leadership role in reproductive rights.

What are your passions outside work?
Camping, hiking, my dogs, running, and yoga. Responsible consumerism and sustainability.
Why did you become an OB/GYN?
Best opportunity to advocate for personal women’s rights and make an individual impact on lives. Initially wanted to be a rural family medicine physician but couldn’t give up the surgical aspect of medicine.
What in your career are you most proud about?
I did what I set out to do. Made it through school, tests and accreditation, residency and have had longevity in a private practice setting.
What is the most important part of your job?
Listening and hopefully the patient feels like they are heard.
