Sexually Transmitted Infections & Pregnancy

Although it’s always important to diagnose and treat sexually transmitted infections, it can be especially important in pregnancy.

Herpes, chlamydia, gonorrhea, hepatitis, genital warts and HIV can all affect you and your baby during pregnancy.

We screen for all of these diseases (except for herpes) at your first pregnancy visit.

Please talk with us at any time during pregnancy if you think you have one of these infections, have a new partner during the pregnancy, wish to be screened for herpes, or have any unusual discharge or notice any bumps or sores.
