Standard For Patient Care

Pediatric Gynecology

Pediatric Gynecology in Denver
Young women and children under the age of 21 can experience different health problems than older women. Because of this, our providers take great care to work with young women and their families to navigate any and all concerns about their gynecological needs. Some of the conditions we treat are:
- Abnormal development of the reproductive area
- Menstruation concerns
- Endometriosis
- Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
- Vaginal infections
- Pelvic pain
- Early or delayed puberty
The Women's Health Group is proud to help women under 21 navigate their gynecological care, no matter what their concerns are.
What to Expect from a Pediatric Gynecology Visit
When you schedule a visit with one of our providers, they will have an open discussion with you and your child about their medical history and current concerns. We want to ensure that your child feels comfortable throughout the entire visit.
We encourage open communication between teens and their parents. In some instances, in order to talk with the patient in a safe and honest manner, we may ask the parents to step out of the room.
If the gynecologist recommends an exam, the patient is then given the option to have it completed in private or with a parent in the room.
Why Schedule an Appointment for your Teen to see the Gynecologist
Our doctors are certified in gynecology and have also been specially trained to meet the gynecological needs of children and adolescents.
Our pediatric gynecology team focuses on the reproductive health and well-being of young women and children under 21 years of age. We are committed to the reproductive needs of children and adolescents and to education, training, and advocacy to improve the reproductive health of our youth.
Pediatric and adolescent gynecologists can answer questions and provide education about topics such as:
- Sexually transmitted infections
- Birth control and pregnancy prevention
- Safe and healthy intimate relationships
- Gender identity
- LGBTQ+ topics
- Having sex for the first time

Gynecologist Examinations for Teens
Examinations typically concentrate on a puberty assessment and preventative checks of the patient’s abdomen, pelvis, breasts, and outer genital area. Our certified doctors understand that there may be apprehension and will proceed respectfully to minimize those feelings. Before the exam, the doctor will communicate with your child about what they are going to do during the exam and will then proceed gently and carefully.
