Contraception Options

Complete Contraception Services
Contraception, also known as birth control, uses medications, devices, and surgical procedures to prevent the onset of pregnancy. Methods of contraception can range from reversible to permanent and offer a variety of solutions for preventing pregnancy.
Finding the right birth control can be a challenge, especially with so many options. At The Women’s Health Group, we offer a wide range of contraception services and work to understand your family planning and health goals to ensure you are given the best options for your health. We recognize that every stage of a woman’s life is valuable and that patient-centered decisions are an essential part of beneficial contraceptive use.
Benefits of Contraception
Women’s Health Group prides itself on providing family planning for every type of patient. Working with our practitioner you’ll be able to decide on the type of birth control that will best suit you and your lifestyle. Whether you just want to be sure you don’t get pregnant until the time is right, or are holding out until you can select a permanent birth control solution as part of a child-free lifestyle, Women’s Health Group is here to help.
Reversible contraception methods are options that can be stopped or altered at any point. They are often in the form of a medication or device inserted into the body:

Permanent contraception options are more secure options for birth control. These are more invasive
procedures that can be done in-house at our facilities.
- Tubal Ligation – A surgical procedure involving cutting the Fallopian tubes and then tying/blocking
them permanently to prevent the egg from traveling from the ovaries. - Essure (Tubal Occlusion) – Micro-inserts are placed into the fallopian tubes, working as a natural
barrier from sperm cells. Over time, the fallopian tubes will close. As a non-hormonal procedure, it
requires no incisions and three months of alternative birth control. - Vasectomy – A vasectomy is performed on the male partner, vasectomies cut, and tie off the close
sperm ducts or vas deferens to prevent sperm cells from reaching the semen.
