Vaginal Rejuvenation

Vaginal Rejuvenation in Denver

Vaginal health is just another part of maintaining a happy and healthy lifestyle. Every woman goes through life stages that force her body to change. Having a child, going through menopause, and experiencing hormonal fluctuation are all natural stages that affect vaginal health and comfort. It’s not uncommon for women to experience uncomfortable symptoms. Many women are now asking their doctor about these symptoms that might be resolved with non-surgical, non-hormonal treatments for better overall quality of life.

The Women’s Health Group is proud to offer a new laser therapy for the treatment of vaginal symptoms called MonaLisa Touch.

MonaLisa Touch Procedure

Who knows the women’s anatomy better than Obstetrics and Gynecology doctors? Our physicians Dr. Stephen Volin, Dr. Cindy Long and Dr. Kimberlee Barnes are board certified OBGYN physicians that specialize in postmenopausal care and have special training in MonaLisa Touch Vaginal Rejuvenation. MonaLisa Touch is a non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation treatment that uses a fractional CO2 laser to deliver micro-dots to the vaginal wall and external genitalia. This helps restore gynecological health by generating new collagen, elastin, and vascularization.

MonaLisa Touch treatment is also used to treat certain vulvar conditions such as lichen sclerosis. It may also be an option for women with atrophy who prefer to avoid hormonal treatment or are unable to receive estrogen therapy due to estrogen-sensitive cancers.

We are trusted by women across Colorado, and have been a presence along the northern corridor for over 20 years. While consultations may be performed at either our Broomfield or Thornton offices, MonaLisa Touch procedures are done at our Thornton office only.

MonaLisa Touch can also help with the following:

Dryness
Itching
Burning
Leakage
Vaginal atrophy

What To Expect During MonaLisa Touch

During the consultation, a vaginal exam will be performed to ensure there are no contraindications to performing this laser treatment.

The in-office procedure takes only 5 minutes. There is no downtime and side effects are minimal.

During each session, a topical anesthetic is applied to the vulva to prevent discomfort. After the area has numbed, a vaginal probe is inserted into the vagina and directed at the vulva, delivering gentle laser energy. Most patients describe this process as a mild vibration that is painless.

Typically, patients undergo three treatments every six weeks over an 18-week period, with an annual maintenance treatment once a year. Additional treatments are determined by your physician.

Other Treatments for Vaginal Rejuvenation

Other treatments are available in addition to or instead of laser therapy. For this reason, it is important to work with an OBGYN physician to ensure you get the appropriate treatment for your symptoms. We encourage you to make an appointment with one of our OBGYN physicians to explore all of your options. Schedule Your Appointment
